Photo negatives (4) in envelope labeled "Charlotte W. Miller." Views of the 3-masted schooner CHARLOTTE W. MILLER, built on the Thames River at Mamacoke by Benjamin Stark Jr. in 1891. The vessel was hit by a submarine in the Thames River on July 31, 1917 and was salvaged by the T.A. Scott Co. She was refurbished by the Ship Construction and Trading Co. in Stonington and launched under the new name WILLIAM H. DRAPER. One of these photographs was used in a column by Carol Kimball titled "The Unsinkable Charlotte W. Miller," that was published by The Day on December 3, 1987.
