Glass plate negative, unidentified man standing inside a house (see also: 2026.026.017). The calendar on the wall reads "October 1902" and was published by T.E. Packer & Co., an insurance agency established by Thomas E. Packer in Mystic in 1863. The man is a Civil War veteran and member of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.). He is dressed in a blue G.A.R. uniform with a G.A.R. quartermaster sword at his hip and a G.A.R. pin attached to his hat. The medal on his jacket is probably the G.A.R. membership badge. He was likely a member of G.A.R.'s Mystic chapter, Williams Post, No. 55.Collection
