"Detachments Militia
Headquarters, New London
June 29, 1813
The officers commanding Companies now in service in said Detachments will inspect the Army accoutrements of their men daily at Roll Call and see that they are kept clean and in good order for service in every particular - and if any man's gear is found rusty or by neglect unfit for service, let him be reported to the commanding officer of this Reg. Battalion that his pay may be stopped, or he otherwise punished - there has been great neglect in this particular -
By order of the Bridge General, George Perkins, Maj. Brigade
To Maj. Pendleton, Commanding Detachments from 30 Reg 5."Collection
