Description

Depicts brick grocery belonging to Carlos W. Allyn with street and horse and carriage in front and ferry landing to the right. Building is two-story brick with porch and display windows on ground floor and 3 windows on second flour. Ferry landing full of people, horses and vehicles. The ferry is visible in the dock, with Thames River and New London in background. Sign on roof of store reads "1898." Prodocts are on display in windows of store and advertisement is visible on outer side wall. Carriage in front labeled "C.W. Allyn." Photograph copied from "Picturesque New London " printed in 1901.
