Description

Sepia photograph of Poquonnock Bridge, mounted on board, c. 1910. The photograph was taken along the bank of the Poquonnock River looking north towards Poquonnock Bridge and the Denison Smith house (built c. 1800). The old stone bridge has been updated to accomodate the weight of the Groton and Stonington Trolley, which started service in 1904. A horse drawn carriage can be seen traveling down Poquonnock Road.
