Photographs of one and two-man submarines designed by James Carnell (1930-2018), a former Groton resident and employee of the Electric Boat Co.:
1. Black and white photograph of BENTHOS III, back of photo stamped: "Baythal Engineering Co., Fishtown Road, Mystic, Connecticut." This vessel was also designed by Robert Toher of Groton and Edward C. Godfrey of Mystic.
2. Contact sheet with seven photographs of a small submarine, presumably the BENTHOS IV, a two-man submarine designed by Jim Carnell at Lear Sigler, Inc. in Deep River, CTCollection
