Description

Black and white photograph looking south east down West Main Street from the drawbridge in Downtown Mystic, between 1906-1911. The Gilbert Transportation Co. (established 1905) stands on the present site of the Main Block (1-17 West Main Street) immediately next to the drawbridge. The picket fence next to the Gilbert Transportation Co. was constructed in 1906 to block the entrance to the Gilbert Shipyard from West Main Street.
