"The above load shows a spar 120 feet long 28 inches in diameter at the small end, hauled by one of the four-horse teams belongton to F.A. Barnes, Lumber Dealer, Mystic, Conn." Frederic A. Barnes (1866-1951) was a lumber dealer on the Stonington side of the Mystic River. The spar is likely headed to the Palmer Shipyard in Noank.Collection
