Notes

From Edith Blake's 1995 EYC Inventory: "... a framed commemorative linen napkin depicting all the pertinent information surrounding the 1899 defense of AMERICA'S Cup. A picture of "Yea Ole Mug" is at the top with pictures of SHAMROCK and COLUMBIA under billowing headsails. Sir Thomas Lipton the owner of SHAMROCK, and C. Oliver Iselin, the owner of COLUMBIA, are pictured on either side. The screening is in light blue and this once hung near the bandstand. It was presented to the Club in 1954 by Manual Swartz Roberts. He called himself a measurer, and was the Club's measurer in 1956 to 1962 but he was much more than that, being both a designer-builder of cat boats, the first ON TIME Ferry, and the builder of the Beach Boat Class designed by Francis T. Meyer. To say nothing of the first lovely HELOT which he built from a design by Cox and Stevens."
