General Notes

Note

In a letter to Joe Evans, E.M. Taber writes about purchasing Polly: "I have lately purchased a horse [...] I take a great deal of pleasure in her. Like all these Vermont horses she is not large, but very hardy, gentle and prettily shaped, being in part Morgan. I call her 'Polly', which is a shortening of a more imposing name: Hippolyta." (Personal Letter, Sept. 17, 1889).
