"Dear Mummie: in reference to your proposed coming in February, I am a little sorry that you think of leaving Mr. Josh-wugh behind. [Sketch] But at all events I shall look forward to greeting him next March. I recieved [sic] a letter from the Pater yesterday in reference to the questions of the barn and spring. You'l [sic] show him this, so it's really an answer to his letter. The springs marked five and six in my map (at all event the two springs at the northern extremity of the limits of the land marked 'Pratt') are, according to Mr. Pratt's own statement, never dry. These to be piped down to meet the water from our own spring, where it descends to the barn, would be no difficult matter as in this way the water from these would follow the course of the brook that takes its rise where they appear."
