The mound is built on top of a circular stone plate. At the front of the mound is an entrance into the interior of the mound. The interior of the mound and the entrance is fully decorated with rocks. Not to be confused with graves, burial mounds are one of the most numerous types of burials found in archaeology, and can be found throughout the world, including North America, Europe, and Asia. Often clustered in groups or lines, they can be large or small. Where they are found intact, grave goods suggest that the larger the mound, the higher the status of the individual buried.Collection
