Japanese Meiko Doll with AccessoriesEntry/Object ID
E-372ABCDDescription
Standing on a black lacquer base, this meiko doll stands in a dancing position with one arm up, and the other down. Her hair is a dark black, styled in a traditional Japanese up-do, with various hair ornaments colored pink, red, green and gold. Flower and butterfly ornaments also adorn her hair, with silver dangling pieces. Her kimono is long sleeved and red in color with flowers of various colors embrodered all over. Her obi (belt) is tied in the darari style and is a golden brown and beige/ cream color with zig-zag pattern with unknown designs on the back. The obiage (cloth above the obi) is ruffled and is colored orange with some white. Her face and hands are painted white.
She has a separate umbrella, which is colored pink with green and white cherry blossoms, made of a thin paper-like cloth material. Made of cardboard and wood, the supporting tongs of the umbrella are fragile, with three broken, and so the umbrella cannot be folded. A wooden sign with unknown Japanese writing accompanies her.

GoodNotes
The glass display case is quite fragile and unstable when moved, almost coming apart; though it was discovered that it can be put back together, so this maybe a purposeful manufacture. However, it is still advised to use caution when handling.
The umbrella is broken, with one piece hanging off. The wooden sign and doll herself are both in perfect condition, though the doll does have a small chip in her hair line that is colored black. It can be hard to see.General Notes
