Spear-Thrower

Name/Title

Spear-Thrower

Entry/Object ID

E-158

Description

The spear-thrower has a handle shaped like an elongated spoon or paddle, widening towards the pin and then narrowing with concave surface. The pin is affixed with kangaroo sinew. There is a ball of grass tree pitch at the end of the handle. The stick is stained with ochre. This spear-thrower is smaller than working examples (usually 85-88 cm long), so it may have been made to sell to tourists.
