Description

A fish trap made from plant fibers.

Use

A bottle fish trap. They typically have a funnel opening that leads to the trap so that fish cannot escape, and are generally weighted.

Context

Mostly used by women to catch fish and shrimp. They would hide the trap in shallow water, under leaves and branches were shrimp are known to hide. Once filled, the women would dive down to retrieve the filled trap.
