Philippine Moro Kris Seko Sword

Description

The sword is a three waved, double-edged Keris sword. It may have silver fretwork at the hilt. The scabbard is made of wood and lashed together with metal strips. There is a weaved grip around the handle below the pommel. Engraved down the center of the blade is "Luma," or the Maguindanao tribe, "Ranti," or the Maranao tribe, and "Kalis Taluseko," or the Tausug tribe. It is likely from the 18th or 19th century. Notes

Patina on blade and metal parts of hilt and scabbard. Various dents and scratches in the wooden scabbard, particularly on the back distal side of scabbard. Scratches/wear on all metal lashings. Small knot in wood of scabbard. Blade covered in scratches, smudges and resin-like substance.
