Description

Roman amphora approximately 66 cm in height featuring two loop handles on either side directly under the banded rim. Clay material appears to be a tan/orange color but has become encrusted with ancient barnacles and coral polyps. Neck is restricted under the rim, possibly used for wine (liquids) storage. High, rounded shoulders; narrow foot as base but is flat, not pointed. Dressel type #30
