Tonala Ram

Entry/Object ID

Description

A small, hollow ceramic ram with geometric designs consisting of circles, waves, lines, triangles and zigzags on body. Patterns are not identical on both sides. He has multiple cracks on his body: a narrow crack runs from a hole in the center of his belly, up his front, slightly off center, from his left leg, up over his head and down his back. Another narrow crack runs from the off-center crack on his face and through his left eye, while a large chip is visible on the top of his left horn. A piece of yellowed masking tape is attached to his stomach, with faded green ink. According to the original catalog card it once read "Modern Tanala Figure." Lastly, there are small drops of what could be white paint on his right side, near the zigzag pattern above his right leg.
