Description

A large Japanese Kimono or robe. Blue in color, it is made of a light, silky material with green, blue, orange, white, and purple plum blossoms as well as a sun or wheel design colored in gold, orange, blue, and white. Sleeves are large and open with only the wrist sewn together. The neck has two silver snap button clasps, perhaps to turn down the neck. Opening of the robe has two flaps ending at about waist length, perhaps there to tie a belt.

The right sleeve has a patch sewn into the lining with the number "A-392." Upon investigation, there is no relation of this number to this object. There is a small blue spot on the inside of the lining, on the mid-back area of what looks like blue ink.
