Context

Jeff Behary: I purchased this for £750 in England during the Covid pandemic and it got simultaneous lost in shipping for around one month...unfortunately, I was also lost for one month deathly ill with long-haul Covid...something it look years to recover from. This was missing the original base, so I machined something study from an old cast iron wheel, a chunk of stainless steel, and a piece of brass bar stock. I have used it to photograph many spectra, it is an extremely fine instrument. The camera is meant for 4" x 5" glass plate negatives but I have used photographic paper in addition to fluorescent uranium oxide glass. It is unfortunately missing the original scale.
