Tanning lamps of curious design. They come with a ballast so that any lamp can be used with the reflector provided. The bulbs are the same construction internally, two heating electrodes with a quantity of mercury. The glass envelopes of each bulb transmit different parts of the UV spectrum. The UV is partially from the mercury discharge and partially from the incandescence of the metallic structures inside of the lamp.
