General Motors Building at night at the Century of Progress 1933-34 Chicago World's Fair. Tower of the building is capped by large "GM" in lights that stands out in stark contrast to the unrelieved blackness of the background. Lower part of the building extends to the right with letters of the divisions (CHEVROLET, OLDSMOBILE, BUICK, FRIGIDAIRE) looking black against the light.
