Studio portrait of Seth Wadhams (1812-1888) Seth Wadhams, a Chicago businessman, and his wife, Elizabeth, came to Elmhurst in 1868. Their estate, White Birches, included a large residence and extensive land. The residence, after various owners, many years and much remodeling, is now known as Wilder Mansion.
