Partial view of the house at 331 S. York Street. One room of this house, seen on the left, was originally the first schoolhouse in Elmhurst circa 1850 - 1857 on St. Charles Road, west of Cottage Hill Avenue. After serving as the schoolhouse, the building was moved and was an addition to the house already standing at 331 S. York Street. The Carl Sandburg family lived in the house 1919 - 1928.Photograph Details
