Churched burned around 1914 --then an new brick foundation was built and used for years for church and Sunday school. In 1941 a group decided to build a new church nearer center of town- chose site at St. Charles + York- as First Baptist Church. Old basement church was sold to Grace Bible Church (which had been meeting in the store front church on Spring Road) Grace Bible Church added 2nd story, etc. etc.
