Context

This sampler is a remarkable exhibition of Elizabeth's needlework skill. Along the top and uppermost sides, she has demonstrated her skill at pulled work surrounded by vines that are all pattern darned. The table, vase, flowers and vines are all darned, and then she expertly created nine squares of various darned patterns. This
