Using bright colors and folk art flavor, Araiza depicted actors in a Richard Talavera play. In this play, the audience followed the performers as they moved from the Mission Cultural Center’s theater onto a bus, deemed “the Mexican Bus.” The posters functioned as souvenirs, and the actors signed and sold the prints.
A regular at Mission Gráfica from 1984-1987, Araiza shared a house with René Castro. The artist went on to earn multiple degrees in art and became a credentialed teacher of art and Spanish. He has painted several murals in the Mission.
