The American Indian Film Festival commissioned Mission Gráfica to create posters using the artwork of artist Harry Fonseca (Nisenan Maidu). Famous for his bold, humorous paintings, Fonseca often used the coyote as a recurring character in various social settings.
In this case, the artist provided an image of his painting to printers at Gráfica, who did all the rest: creating the separations of different colors, designing the layout, and, of course, printing the poster. In this case, the poster was not used as advertising, but strictly as a fundraiser for the festival.
