Critical Mass is a monthly event in which bicycles reclaim the streets of car-focused cities. It began in San Francisco in 1992 and soon spread around the world. This elegant poster conceives of the event’s purpose as liberating, akin to taking flight. In the early 2000s, Triantafillou worked as a designer at the Mission Cultural Center. He was an inspirational figure, organizing political actions and helping to create the San Francisco Print Collective. The SFPC shared the idealism of Critical Mass, envisioning a positive collective response to contemporary issues.
