A board game based on the Iraq War, Iraqopoly satirizes the seriousness of war. By making a parody of a popular board game, the print associates a meaningless pastime with the Bush Administration’s war of choice. The playing area is in the shape of Iraq, and each square contains a news item from the war. Each square also leads to advances or retreats for the various players: coalition, insurgent, civilian. The implied message is that there is no end point for the game: “Get to Baghdad, then spin for an exit strategy.”
