All six rescue reports share one label. Rescue Reports from Yuba City Flood, 1955 Courtesy Sutter County Museum and Charles Smith When the Feather River’s Gum Tree Levee collapsed, a 21-foot wall of water rushed into Yuba City. While a number of families fled their homes, others remained stuck in place. These handwritten reports gave rescue teams important information about where to search for stranded individuals in a pre-cell phone era.
