I work in an auto-ethnographic manner. The circumstance of my life's events are reflected in the work as well as my immersion in Nature.
The experience of being in the world fully and authentically requires abandoning our separateness from Nature. Each day we die a bit, even as we learn to live more fully.
Working across multiple disciplines, my work uses traditional media, often fused with experimental materials. Swift intuition congeals action with technology and the living world by sifting through the detritus of my life. A body print is a sketchbook; a daily journaling of glimpses, barely audible sighs.
I wade through the tenuous with fragility as vulnerability is the present feeling. The transient informs that all feelings are unknown and incomplete. Epigenetics trigger intuitive knowledge from generations past. The less doctored, the less patently crafted, the more naïve, the more authoritative a print is likely to be. A unique hybrid of methods between printmaking, sewing, drawing and collaging also captures complex unique moment.
The deep artifacts of my youth connect to rhetorical poetic images of civilizations' past.Label Type
