“2017 was the worst fire year in California, until 2018” - Gavin Newsom. In these two years, 3,275,318 acres of California burned. Homes, lives, and wild habitat were destroyed. Personal, state, and corporate economies suffered. Physical and mental health deteriorated. For thousands of years California’s Native populations used fire to nurture plant growth and improve hunting grounds. Because we’ve abandoned these healthy forest practices, and experience extreme climate (heat and wind), fires are fierce and frequent.
