FINAL/APPROVED: Courtesy of the artist. An homage to the poet's father — and to all immigrants — who struggle to find the balance between holding on and letting go. Includes photography of New York City in the 1960s, taken by the artist's father. Barbara Tran’s poetry has appeared in Cincinnati Review, Conjunctions, The Paris Review, and The New Yorker. The recipient of a MacDowell Freund Fellowship, Bread Loaf Scholarship, Lannan Foundation Writer’s Residency, and Pushcart Prize, Barbara is a contributor to collaborative works by She Who Has No Master(s), a collective of diasporic Vietnamese womxn and nonbinary writers. Along with Monique Truong and Luu Truong Khoi, Barbara is co-editor of Watermark: Vietnamese American Poetry & Prose, forthcoming in a 25th anniversary edition in 2023.
