When all material items are accounted for, the loss of photos is the most lamentable. Inside a metal case, I was astonished to find neat little rows of charcoal squares – what was left of my father’s slides of his grand adventures in Alaska. Devoid of their images, they had in some small way been saved. – Christy Heron-Clark
