"Step 1: Kelp Collection" — After much planning and permitting, Dr. Brent Hughes collects bull kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana) blades from the surface. His team at Sonoma State University is collaborating with scientists at Moss Landing Marine Labs and The Greater Farallones Association to regrow bull kelp in the lab and conduct restoration experiments of along the coast.
