Clarence Fraker (1877-1930) is pictured next to the car inside the Imel, Fraker & Co. in Fairland (brick building at the northeast corner of Washington & Mulberry St, 110 N Mulberry St).
From Fraker's 1930 obituary in the Shelbyville Republican:
Mr. Fraker started in the agricultural implement business about thirty years ago with F. L. Imel as a partner, the firm being known as Imel & Fraker. After a number of years the business name was changed to the Imel-Fraker Company. Two years ago Mr. Imel retired, & Mr. Fraker's sons entered the business with him, the firm name being altered to the Fraker Hardware Company. During all these years, Mr. Fraker's business was located at Fairland, but his store attracted buyers from all parts of the county & adjacent territory. He was a man respected by the people of his community.
Clarence Fraker & Frank Imel built the brick building; they had their business downstairs & leased the upstairs as a lodge hall. Later, Clarence's son, Otis Fraker, operated a grocery store with Lelie Gephart. The building then served as a lodge & a residence.Photograph Details
