This hat is estimated to have been made around 1905 by Mrs. Martha Holbrook (Martha Hallbrooks) of Haleyville, AL. She was the grandmother of Mrs. Stella Fitzgerald Kelly of Florence, AL. Ms. Hallbrooks was born in Georgia in 1864, the daughter of Burrell M. Miller and Temperance Fenirose Phagan.
