This is a receipt for weapons taken during the Civil War, perhaps part of the Tullahoma (TN) Campaign in late June, 1863. The transcript reads:
"Ref. of J.B. Nichols one rifle gun one double Barrel shotgun and one single barrel shotgun taken by order of General Bragg of the Confederate Army this 30 day of June 1863.
L.W. Jones
Sargeant."
