Description

The Cumberland point type is a medium to large lanceolate point. The base in recurvate with a tapered hafting area. The base is expanding and concave. Most examples are fluted and made with collateral (parallel) flaking. The point is named for the Cumberland River basin where many points were found. It is thought to be a spear or atlatl point. This point is partially reconstructed.
