This is a very important bike made by Saint George Engineering Birmingham in 18/90 2/93. This is a transition bike from penny farthing to safety frame. The features incorporated in this, the mounting peg on the back wheel, the seat, which was fixed to the frame, the wrap around handlebars, which made the seating arrangement very bolt upright. Another, transition, feature is the large 30 inch wheel in the front, 27 inch wheel in the back. The chain wheel is of cast iron construction. The chain itself is the original chain, which is an inch link block chain. The bell is a Joseph Lucas, penny farthing bell. The only breaking was a spoon brake which put pressure on the top of the front wheel. The leather triangular kit is a, a tool kit from that period. It has wooden mudguards, which are short sections on the front wheel and the back. Very important bike. Hardly any left in existence.Collection
