Description

This pretty ancient tool, long, slender handle with a blade on the end is known as a Loy Yang spade. These were used for numerous purposes. Out here, they were used for shaping the cylindrical shafting that the Chinese used for gold mining. Extremely rare to find out here. Created great interest with the Chinese community in Ballarat.
