This is a lovely little shooter's piece. Would have been worn over the shoulder or wraps around the waist. Made of wood in a big curve, has a slot cut into the centre with a little, like a door. When you're quail shooting, the necks will strung along the gap in the middle, so that the quail will all contained on this one bolt. A rare piece. This quail shooting strap is a piece of very early improvisation, homemade. The little, swing door is in fact an early penny.Collection
