Description

This handpiece from the Dangar Collection has a unique place in the history of mechanical shearing. This was used at Dunlop Station for the first completed shearing, from start to finish that was done in the world. This handpiece was used by Jim Davidson. This handpiece would have been made in Melbourne during the period that, Wolseley was getting the handpieces manufactured in Melbourne. Davidson ended up becoming a representative for Woolsey, promoting mechanical shearing. Later in his life, he was recruited by Lister to start Lister Shearing in England.
