This is what is known as a Chinese Scholar's Stone or Contemplation Stone. These were used to rub the hand over when trying to think of solutions for, hard to break Problem. These have been used for 1,000 of years in China. Still treasured items over there. Most unusual to see examples of these in Australia.Collection
