This is very large Wells cast iron Wells lamp. This one is referred to as the Trench Lamp. These were used during the construction of the Sewage System through London. Because of the depth required, these huge lamps were used for lighting. This one has the original wick, the original cast iron swinging handle, still with the original lid in fabulous order. Stamped on the side is over 1,000,000 sold.Collection
