This is a Cooper's tool. This has a wooden handle, steel rim at the top because it gets a lot of hammering. This has a v shaped groove with an abrasive surface. This tool is used for hammering the iron hoops down the stave to keep these staves in place and tight. A very important tool for a cooper. Quite hard to find. This one in wonderful original condition.Collection
