These hooks, which were adjustable, were used on, the early campfires where they put a log between 2, branch pieces of wood and lit the fire. The pots could be adjusted to whatever was the necessary height, above the fire to do the cooking. Often used in stock camps and, bush kitchens. Quite a rare tool today, but once commonly used.
