Sheep Wash tubsEntry/Object ID
6985Description
This is a long metal cylinder, that was used in the sheep washes during the early days when sheep were washed before they were shorn. The reason for this cylinder, the people that stood inside these cylinders in the sheep wash remained dry for the day. Otherwise, I would be standing in smelly dirty water for the entire day moving sheep along the wash. So these were an important part of a sheep wash. This particular one came from the Trewalla sheep wash near Beaufort.Collection
