This is a horse singe. The handle was the fuel tank, had a tap to monitor the flow, a large wick. It was to be pushed up against the lie of the horse's hair and would cut the hair off with the burning flame as it went. This is a cheap model one. The more expensive beautiful ones are all made of solid brass.Collection
